Idea Excursion on the island
Excursion
: Belle Ile en Mer - Bangor-Locmaria
Bangor – Locmaria (23 km – 7 h)
Stage
of an average distance but with the sporting course: the rises and the descents
are ceaseless. It is here that the landscapes beat measurement. The small
splits very many offering unsuspected beaches, to the very diverse colors
(gray, white, fair...) and to the access are reserved to the pedestrians.
Guaranteed expatriation and peace. We indeed cross very little world on
this portion of the circuit. Oddly, it is often forgotten agencies of trek
and associations of excursion. It is famous to be most difficult, which
is not false but it is worth the glance so much.
To take
the road of Large Village and to join Port-Kérel by the pretty small
valley of Bordenec' h. (2,5 km)
1. / 2,5 km
To skirt
the slope Is handle through the moor; with the point of Pennvaz, to continue
through a rocky zone, stripped, to leave on his line the island of Bangor,
one reaches the point of Large Village (splendid point of view).
2. / 2,5
km
To move
on the slope; from there, the ground is particularly broken, the very dense
vegetation often (moors, pine forest), the deep small valleys. One overhangs
two beaches of difficult access to Ye-Yew and Dotchot before arriving at
superb Plage of Herlin
By strong or agitated sea, dangerous currents along the rocks, mainly between
the slack of low tide and the semi-tide (beach supervised in July and August).
3. / 2 km
Slope Is beach, to join the top of the plate before going down towards the pretty beach of Baluden, hidden at the bottom of a vast grassy circus.
CAUTION:
to avoid skirting the sea front: RISK OF FALL.
The path,
sinuous, rises to a high headland (beautiful point of view) before plunging
towards the gray sand split of Port-Guen. After having climbed the opposed
slope, very abrupt, the ground does not offer any difficulty to the point
of Saint-Marc. (difficult to reach Cave).
It is here that we decide spade-to screw from where the panorama is superb.
Small usual nap before taking again a foot in front of the other the wire
of our circuit.
4. / 2,5 km
To skirt
the coast in overhang of cliff. Feels cross-piece a zone eroded, rock, then
with strong vegetation of moors in the descent of the deep handle of Port
of Pouldon.
5. / 4,1
km
To climb
the slope Is to a high headland: the Point of Pouldon (old oppidum Celtic).
While continuing, the path dominates a high cliff; one discovers on his
line, the island of Bourhic then one is inserted in two small valleys particularly
abrupt before reaching the split of: Port Lost Kah (place of the shipwreck
of "Prince de Conti").
6. / 3 km
Here, we
reach the highest coast of the island. The landscape is austere, the ground
rocky, is stripped. The rock split of Port-Skeul is not very pleasing. With
not missing natural curiosities however such: the rock of Pylor and the
cave of Porthos. After a rather long rise, one can admire the panorama which
the Point of Skeul offers to us.
The arrival
with the point of Skeul is appreciated by those of which the feet are painfully
felt. More than the difficulty of the stages, it is their length which causes
small pain.
7./2,3km
The coast
is directed towards the N/E; to the point of Arzic, the flat path does not
offer any difficulty. With the point of Arzic, old semaphore. Giving up
the wild coast, the path, after having circumvented the semaphore, goes
down towards the beach from Port-White: fix of setting to water for the
boats; old very close Fort (private property).
8. / 1 km
With
through the high moor, the path rises, plunges in a small valley of ferns
to reach a rock headland; the descent brings to the pretty fine sand split
of Port-Maria. Handle barred by 2 cuttings off and defended at the 17th
century by a fort currently arranged in residence.
9. / 0,6 km

By
a small valley bordered of small stone walls, to go up towards the borough
of Locmaria.
While arriving at Locmaria Pretty small white church in the center of the
borough.
Good excursion!
